HOW TO APPLY

 

GRANT APPLICATIONS FOR INDIVIDUALS

 

The Trustees welcome applications from:

1. Professionally qualified staff from the NHS

2. Social workers

3. Care agencies

4. Charities

 

Applications are only accepted from professional organisations or persons.  Members of the public cannot make an application but should approach a professional organisation, to apply to the Trust on their behalf.

 

QUALIFYING CRITERIA

 

Organisations making applications on behalf of individuals must ensure the individual is:

 

1. Ill/Disabled - often evidenced by health related benefits 

2. Financially needy

3. A permanent resident in the area of Plymouth City Council


Please note: we do not give grants for day-to-day living expenses, cash, costs for moving home, flooring, security deposits, debts, DROs (debt recovery orders or bankruptcy fees.


GRANTS MADE TO CHARITIES (rather than individuals)


Who can make an application?

 

Charities which work with beneficiaries within the boundary of Plymouth City Council and fulfil our qualifying criteria.


Trustees of the Plymouth Public Dispensary charity generally prefer to make grants to individual people in need. 

 

Charities which receive a grant from our Trust are required to report back to the Trustees within a 12 month period with information about how the money was spent and benefited individuals from Plymouth.     

 

HOW TO MAKE AN APPLICATION


To apply for financial support on behalf of a Plymouth resident, please contact our Consultant and  request an application form via email admin@ppdtrust.co.uk or Tel 077 4625 1122.   The Trustees meet five times a year to consider applications.  Please ensure that you contact us to check the deadline for submissions.

 

Applications must be completed in full and explain how a grant would benefit the individual.  Completed applications can be returned via email admin@ppdtrust.co.uk or by post:

APPLICATIONS FROM CHARITABLE ORGANISATIONS for a grant for the organisation.  

 

Charities who would like to request a grant from our Trust may do so by letter to the Trustees of the Plymouth Public Dispensary, providing full details of how we may be able to help and the benefit this will bring to residents of Plymouth.


(Charities applying on behalf of an individual should request an application form as above).
